Animal Magnetism #14: Sam Sheltie
Sam Sheltie comes from a hardworking family. His Shetland sheepdog forebears were sheepherders on the Shetland Islands off the north coast of Scotland. Partly due to the harsh weather and the scarcity of food on these islands, most native animals are small in size. For example, shelties are much smaller than their collie cousins, and the Shetland pony is scarcely larger than a big dog. True to his breed, Sam is affectionate, loyal, obedient, extremely intelligent and a bit reserved. Size: 4 3/4" x 4".
