Animal Magnetism #17: Edgar Eagle

  • Designed by Alida Macor
The bald eagle is the national symbol of the United States. Edgar usually looks for food -- fish, waterfowl and small mammals -- soon after dawn. In the afternoon, he may soar with his 7-foot wingspan on currents of air called thermals, returning before dark. Bald eagles unually use the same nest for life, just adding more nesting material each year. Eventually, an eagle's nest can weigh several hundred pounds and even support a person. Size: 5 1/4" x 2 3/4".
