Combining Knit and Crochet

Posted on Jun. 30, 2006 by Kris Frye

Another technique we saw everywhere at TNNA was combining knit and crochet. There were tons of garments that were knitted with crochet edgings!

If you'd like to add a crochet edging to a knitted piece, you work from right to left with the right side of your knitting facing you. Work one single crochet in each stitch on the bound-off or cast-on edges or single crochet in the spaces along the front or side edges. Work two or three sc in the corner stitches to keep your work flat.

You can leave it as-is for a classic, tailored look or use this border as a foundation row for a fantastic crocheted edging. The choice is yours!
